What you will do:
- Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing department.
- Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
- Improving and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures.
- Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
- Maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Maintaining and updating supplier information.
- Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
- Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
- Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
- Liase with users to anticipate future requirements
- Monitoring performance within Purchasing department to ensure targets are met and exceeded
- Review vendor performance and contract together with User and Vendor Management
Procurement's Requirements:
- Bachelor in accounting, business management or a similar field preferred.
- >3 years of experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar position.
- >3 years experience in the logistics industry
- Able to clearly demonstrate real cost savings in previous roles
- Clear achievements of cost savings through negotiations in the past few roles
- Knowledgeable and vast connections with vendors in the logistics industry
- Strong network of vendors even beyond the logistics industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Supervisory and management experience.
- Attention to detail.
