What you will do:

  • Overseeing and supervising employees and all activities of the purchasing department.
  • Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Improving and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased.
  • Maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information.
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
  • Liase with users to anticipate future requirements
  • Monitoring performance within Purchasing department to ensure targets are met and exceeded
  • Review vendor performance and contract together with User and Vendor Management

Procurement's Requirements:

  • Bachelor in accounting, business management or a similar field preferred.
  • >3 years of experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar position.
  • >3 years experience in the logistics industry
  • Able to clearly demonstrate real cost savings in previous roles
  • Clear achievements of cost savings through negotiations in the past few roles
  • Knowledgeable and vast connections with vendors in the logistics industry
  • Strong network of vendors even beyond the logistics industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Supervisory and management experience.
  • Attention to detail.
